Amy Winehouse is usually in the news for all the wrong reasons but the youngsters seem to adore her. A couple of weeks ago she was seen signing a skateboard for a cheeky young man who knocked on her door and now his mate are appearing and asking for the stars signature on other articles. I think you might end up regretting this Amy!
Ms. Winehouse appears more than happy to oblige and to have her photo taken with them, she certainly seems to enjoy having them around.
It was confirmed today that she will be performing at the huge concert in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday. The concert takes place on 27 June at Hyde Park and many top artists including Annie Lennox, Queen (well most of them!), Simple Minds, Leona Lewis, Sugababes, Razorlight as well as other acts.
The 46664 concert, the number which was Mandela’s prison number after being imprisoned on Robben Island, off Cape Town in South Africa in 1964. He was jailed for 27 years for leading the liberation movement against apartheid and for his impassioned stance on the rights of everyone to live in freedom. His prison number was 466 and imprisoned in 1964.
Tim Massey, the international director of the 46664 concert said “We are delighted that Amy will be appearing at Hyde Park to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday.
The aim of the concert is to raise awareness particularly to the youngsters of the global HIV AIDS epidemic.
