Amy Winehouse was released from police custody this morning after spending the night at Holborn police station in London.

She attended the police station yesterday afternoon by appointment, for questioning about the alleged attack of two men.  It was claimed that she headbutted one man and punched another after a six-hour pub crawl in the early hours of Wednesday morning and if found guilty, she could face up to six-months in prison.

Apparently, when she first arrived at the station, she was judged to be “unfit to be interviewed” by a doctor and spent the night in a cell. A police spokesman said “That means that we cannot deal with her for at least four hours and until the doctor has seen her again.”

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said “A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault after attending a central London police station by appointment.  She is currently in custody”.

All this on the day that her jailed husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was appearing at Crown Court to set a date for his trial on charges of assault and conspiracy to prevent the course of justice.  During his hearing, which his wife did not attend, he was allegedly seen mouthing the words “I love you” to his 21-year-old blonde supporter, Sophie Schandorff.

Georgette Civil, Blake’s mother apparently said this week on the antics of her daughter-in-law “Her behaviour has spiralled out of control.  She’s made a complete fool of herself and I hope my son divorces her”.

On Thursday evening, after the alleged attack incident, it was claimed Winehouse was escorted from the Made in Brazil bar in Camden by bouncers amid reports she had been caught taking drugs in the toilets.

Her father, Mitch, who remains devoted to his daughter, is said to be “at the end of his tether” and together with her record company and friends, is considering forcing her back into rehab.

As Keith Richards recently said of the singer “She isn’t going to be around long unless she sorts herself out pretty quickly, She needs to get smart”.
