Last night on TV in the new episode of Comedy Central, South Park had jumped on the media band-wagon of Britney Spears.

It began with the children sat around watching a debate on TV about Clinton and Obama, which was interrupted with breaking Britney news.  There is said to be a media frenzy as news breaks that Britney is camping in Colorado and that she took a pee outside on a ladybug,  The newsreader then says that she has now moved to a hotel.  Cartmen notes that she is in South Park.

The children learn that the photo of the peeing Britney paid-out $100,000 they decide to go to the hotel and track her down.

Kyle says “$100,000 for a picture of Britney peeing on a ladybug.  Imagine what a picture of her crapping on a squirrel is worth!”

However, it doesn’t end there and turns far more sinister and starts to make you cringe a little.

The children claim to be Britney’s kids and gain access to her room but she learns that she has been conned and gets depressed and shoots herself in the head.  She survives but is headless .  The kids sneak her out  of the hospital and help her to stage a singing come-back but she can only grunt as she has no head. She is ridiculed by the audience who are calling her fat and a train wreck.

The kids try to protect her from the Paparazzi and Kyle informs that they have to let Britney go before it’s too late.  It carries on with the press explaining that “Our lust for torture and death is no different than it was in gladiator times.  The only difference is now we like to watch people put to death through magazines and papers.”

A rather tasteless comedy sketch on the whole but there is certainly some truth in the story.
