The Equalizer - Edward Woodward

The veteran actor Edward Woodward, 79-years-old, died at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro today after suffering from ill health for sometime.

Best known for his roles in ‘The Equalizer’ and ‘The Wicker Man’, Woodward was married to the actress Michele Dotrice, who is widely known for her part as Betty, the long-suffering wife of Frank Spencer.

Amy Winehouse was allegedly admitted to hospital on Sunday evening after the medication she was taking to fight a cold, had an adverse reaction to the prescription drug she takes in her battle with substance abuse.

After a doctor was called to the singers home she was advised to go to hospital to be checked over and to remain there overnight for observation.

A celebrity garage sale took place at the weekend in the car park of Selfridge’s  in Oxford Street, to raise money for the Mothers4Children charity.

Denise Van Outen, Trinny Woodall, Yasmin Le Bon, Louise and Jamie Redknapp and David Wallliams, donned aprons and antler headbands with the celebrities each selling around £5,000 on each of the 45 stalls set-up with donations from the likes of Shirley Bassey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Hurley and Jodie Kidd.

Denise Van Outen and her husband Lee Mead have announced that they are expecting their first child due to be born in May 2010.

The couple married in a romantic setting in the Seychelles in April of this year after meeting when the 35-year-old was a judge on the talent show ‘Any Dream Will Do’, where her husband was a contestant.

Robbie Williams is set to take to the stage with the rest of the band ‘Take That’ for a special ‘Children In Need’ charity gig on Thursday at the Royal Albert Hall.

Cheryl Cole is also reported to be attending and will perform with Snow Patrol where she will be covering the female vocals on the hit ‘Set The Fire To The Third Bar’.  Sir Paul McCartney, Leona Lewis and Dizzee Rascal are also expected to make an appearance.

Jo and Ronnie Wood are now divorced after their 24-year marriage ended on the grounds of the singers admitted adultery with the Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.

Jo was granted the decree nisi from the judge at the High Court’s Family Division in central London today although she did not personally attend the hearing.

Denise Van Outen, 35,  married her fiance Lee Mead in a secret beach ceremony in the Seychelles  on Saturday with only a handful on guests invited to the wedding.

Mead, 27,  who has been playing the part of Joseph in the musical ‘Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat’, met his bride in 2007 and they announced their engagement earlier this year.

One of the stars of Monty Python, Terry Jones, is to be a parent at the age of 67-years-old with his 26-year-old girlfriend Anna Soderstrom.

Jones left his family home in 2004 after his affair with the young woman was discovered leaving his wife of 35-years devastated, the couple have a daughter of 35 and a son of 32.

One of the presenters of Loose Women Carol McGriffin, 48, has announced her engagement to her toyboy lover Mark Cassidey, 26.

McGriffin, was formally married to Chris Evans in the 1990’s and has been dating Cassidy for only a few months before he proposed to her on their recent holiday.

Denise Van Outen has got engaged to her boyfriend Lee Mead who played Joseph in ‘The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’.

Van Outen, 34, has been dating Mead, 27, since November 2007 after they met on the BBC show ‘Any Dream Will Do’.

According to reports, the actor Patrick Swayze has now stopped all treatment after being told that there was nothing more that could be done for him.

After being diagnosed twelve-months ago with pancreatic cancer the 56-year-old has been determined to beat the disease but it seems that this is no possible.

A family friend has allegedly said that he is now being kept comfortable, that he is still losing weight and is very weak.

Jamie Bell who played the young dancer in ‘Billy Elliot’, has landed a new role in the latest animated Steven Spielberg movie.

Now, 22-years-old, will provide the voice and the motion as he plays the lead part in ‘The Adventures Of Tintin’, alongside Daniel Craig who will be playing baddy ‘Red Rackham’.

Gordon Ramsey has announced that he intends to open a new restaurant in LA with Victoria Beckham.

Ramsey made the announcement at the GQ Award ceremony and said that Victoria is,

“really keen to focus on a traditional English style menu, like bangers and mash, fish and chips and such like.”

Kerry Katona is furious with her mother who has yet again sold another story relating to her daughter to another magazine.

Katona feels that if her mother is that desperate to get in touch with her she could send her a letter directly.  She also added that the the benefit fraud her mother was recently charged with was not a misunderstanding, she was guilty and admitted to it.

Lisa Snowden will now take the place of Denise Van Outen on Capital Radio alongside Johnny Vaughan after filling in as a replacement recently.

The listeners loved her and she received an amazing response from the public.  Miss Outen, announced at the end of July that she would be quitting the radio show due to the effect the early mornings were having on her health.
