The band ‘Westlife’ have cancelled their promotional tour of London after the sudden death of Nicky Byrne’s father yesterday.

Nicky Byrne Sr. is believed to have suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 60, and his son has now flown back to Ireland to be with his family.  It is believed that the young Nicky had followed in his musician fathers footsteps who had been known his home country as a talented cabaret singer with his own band ‘Nicky and the Studz’.

Kym Marsh, who plays the part of a barmaid in Coronation Street, has won the title of ‘Celebrity Mum Of The Year’ for 2009 and also revealed that she is back in the arms of her boyfriend Jamie Lomas.

The 33-year-old actress and singer beat a host of other celebrities eager for the trophy, including Katie Price, Charlotte Church, Kate Garraway, Holly Willoughby, Geri Halliwell and Kate Moss.

The stars of Auf Wiedersehen Pet, have reunited to make a charity record in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, as the song is a popular one for the fans of Newcastle United.

Jimmy Nail, Tim Healy and Kevin Whately, have been in the recording studio to record a new version of the Geordie favourite ‘ The Blaydon Races’, which features a new verse written in Sir Bobby’s honour after losing his battle with cancer in July.

Simon Cowell is not normally known for his caring side but it has been revealed that the music mogul has joined Holly Willoughby and Max Clifford as a patron for the Children’s Hospices UK.

Cowell has admitted that he prefers children to adults as he finds them easier to talk to after working with the charity ‘Chase’ for the past four-years.

Dannii Minogue has admitted that she only posed naked for ‘Playboy’ to pay off her debts after revealing that she was too proud to ask her family for financial help.

The singer and X Factor judge appeared on the front cover of the adult magazine in October of 1995 and the issue sold out within just four-days.

Premier footballer Marlon King has been has been jailed for 18-months today after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a nightclub and punching her in the face when she turned him down.

The 29-year-old was playing for Wigan Athletic at the time of the incident in December 2008 and has now been fired by the manager of the team.

According to reports Andrew Lloyd Webber is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer after being diagnosed over the last few weeks.

The 61-year-old composer is said to be in the early stages of the disease which is not thought to have spread to other organs in his body.

Peter Andre has been signed up by ITV as a show business reporter for ‘This Morning’ for their 21st series, which will begin on the 1st September.

Andre will be joined by Holly Willoughby, who is replacing Fern Britton on the sofa, Linda Barker, Danielle Proud, gardener Diarmuid Gavin and chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.

Senator Edward Kennedy lost his battle with brain cancer last night at his home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, only weeks after the death of his sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

The 77-year-old, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in May 2008 and underwent an initial successful operation.  His health later began to deteriorate and he suffered a seizure after the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

Chris Brown has now been formally sentenced to six-months community service in Virginia for the attack on his former girlfriend Rihanna.

The court judge stated that the sentence was delayed earlier this month as she wanted to see what the state of Virginia had in store for the punishment as she wanted the singer to do actual physical labour, which is to include washing cars, removing graffiti and maintenance and ground clearance.

The boxing legend Muhammad Ali, returned to Britain today on his short tour of the UK, where he will later be meeting up with British boxer Ricky Hatten before attending a benefit dinner in his honour at Old Trafford.

The 67-year-old is fighting an ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease and is unlikely to speak at the venue but wanted to return to see his old friends and fans including Sir Henry Cooper.

Amy Winehouse was divorced from her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil in London today after two-years of marriage.

Civil, allegedly began divorce proceedings in January accusing Winehouse of adultery, and could be entitled to some of her millions.  Neither party were in attendance at the Family Division of the High Court in London for the hearing.

Holly Willoughby is to be the new hostess on ‘This Morning’ when it returns to our screens in September, after Fern Britton gives up her seat on the sofa this Friday.

We have seen the face of Ms. Britton on the ITV morning show for the past ten-years but she announced earlier in the year that she would be leaving to spend more time with her family and to try other projects.

Ms. Willoughby, who started out as a children’s television presenter is probably better known for hosting ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Dancing On Ice’.

Veteran actor Robert Redford, married his long-term partner in Hamburg at the weekend at the luxurious Louis C. Jacob hotel.

The 71-year-old, had been dating artist Sibylle Szaggar 51, since 1996 and their engagement was announced in March, confirming that he would marry again for the second time.

Lanky footballer Peter Crouch, has confirmed that he and girlfriend Abbey Clancy are engaged after proposing on their recent romantic holiday in Sardinia.

The England footballer, 28, got down on one knee to pop the question to the 23-year-old model, who accepted although a date for their marriage has not yet been set.

Holly Willoughby gave birth to her first child on Monday, a baby boy weighing 7lb 4oz and he has been named Harry James Baldwin.

Holly best known for being the hostess on ‘Dancing On Ice’, married Dan Baldwin in August 2007 and the couple are said to be overjoyed with their new son.

A new exhibition has been opened in New York by Yoko Ono dedicated to her late husband John Lennon as part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The event contains artefact’s of the former Beatles life including a bag containing the blood soaked clothes from the night he was shot dead!

Pete Burns, former singer with Dead Or Alive, and his husband Michael Simpson, were allegedly arrested in Soho, London, in the early hours of this morning after a violent argument took place.

The pair were reportedly restrained by police before being driven away in the back of a police van after the incident.

Holly Willoughby, had her pregnancy revealed live on TV last night whilst hosting the X Factor.  Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh gave the game away by congratulating Holly ln the show.

The TV presenter married TV producer Dan Baldwin last August and said at the time that she wanted children while she was young.

Simon Cowell, meanwhile, has separated from his long term girlfriend Terri Seymour after six years together.  It just so happens to be at the same time that Sinitta, the mentoring assistant to Simon Cowell on the X Factor, is also left home alone, after her husband has relocated abroad for his work.

Lewis Hamilton was crowned the youngest ever Formula One World Champions yesterday at the Interlagos circuit in Sao Paulo, Brazil and his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, was one of the first to congratulate the McLaren driver on his return to parc firme.

On Saturday, it is the UN World Day for Water, and Holly was raising awareness to the fact that Britain does not have a plentiful supply of water due to a high population.

The campaign is asking people to take showers in only three minutes in a bid to save water.

Holly said “Because we’re such a small country and there are so many people in the country, the amount of water per head is so minimal – we’ve got less water per head in the south-east of England than they have in the Sudan.”

“The average is about seven minutes for men and and about 7.2 minutes for women so it’s not that much difference.  Every minute you spend in the shower you use nine litres of water.  Aim for the optimum three minute shower then you’re going to save a lot of water.  If everyone did that in a day, you would save enough to fill 9,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools in one day.”
