Avril Lavigne and her husband Deryck Whibley, are separating after just three-years of marriage, which has been announced by the singer on her personal blog.

The couple had a traditional Catholic wedding in California in July 2006, but it has been widely known that their marriage was in trouble for some time.

Jeremy Clarkson has been targeted by environmental activists who dumped a huge pile of manure on the Top Gear presenters garden lawn.

The group of seven protesters held a banner above their heads stating ‘This Is What You’re Landing Us In’, in protest against Clarkson’s blase attitude to high-powered cars and climate change.

According to reports, the body of Patrick Swayze has already been cremated with his ashes being held at his lawyers office.  No memorial plans have yet been released but it is believed that his wife intends to scatter his ashes in the grounds of their New Mexico ranch home.

It was revealed today that the town of Lake Lure, North Carolina, are holding a public memorial for the actor who filmed most of the movie ‘Dirty Dancing’ there in 1987.

The eldest son of Paul Daniels, Paul Daniels Jnr, 48, has allegedly been caught selling cannabis to an undercover reporter from his fancy dress hire shop in Wigan.

Daniels Jnr. has already spent time in prison for deception and has previous convictions for growing cannabis at his home, selling porn and drink driving.

Is it just a publicity stunt or is it the real Stig?  Last night the mysterious driver was unmasked during an interview with Jeremy Clarkson as Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher.

The Stig has test driven around the Top Gear circuit in Surrey, where he competes against a guest on the show for the fastest lap, but it has also previously been admitted that there was more than one man donning the white racing suit and helmet.

Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves have announced that they are expecting a second child together.  The couple have an 11-month-old son named Levi and McConaughey shared the good news on his website yesterday.

Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister, is likely to spend a few more days in hospital after falling and breaking her arm last week.

The 83-year-old, has now undergone an operation to have a pin inserted into her upper arm to hold the bone in place and is now resting.  Baroness Thatcher has suffered from a series of strokes over the years and also has dementia.

Police are said to be examining the photograph, taken on a mobile phone, of the Top Gear presenter on his mobile phone driving his 6.3 litre Mercedes, which if proved could see him with three points on his license and a £60 fine.

A spokesman for the Thames Valley Police said “We are taking this matter very seriously and will be collecting all the available evidence to see whether there is a case to answer.”

Clarkson was apparently photographed as he overtook Adam Blake, 22, close to the turn-off to the Silverstone racing circuit on Friday morning. Mr. Blake said “My girlfriend said “Oh, that’s Jeremy Clarkson” and then noticed he was on his mobile. She grabbed her phone and took a picture of him. We Couldn’t believe we’d caught him out. Afterwards we moved into the fast lane and overtook him and we gave him a beep. It was clearly him.” Mr Blake added “Everyone know’s you can’t use a phone behind the wheel. Perhaps he thinks he’s above the law.”

When confronted at his mansion about the alleged law-breaking he was said to of at first denied being in the car but when shown the photograph said “That isn’t a mobile phone.”

A police insider warned today that no exceptions could be made for celebrities.
