The public are being asked to head over to www.facebook.com/disneyjunioruk and donate their first Disney memory to the campaign, which Disney will turn into £1million for the hospital when they hit the magic number of 1,000,000 memories.

Sir Michael Caine says: “I remember crying my eyes out when Bambi died and laughing my head off at the Seven Dwarfs. My favourite Disney villain? The Wicked Witch in Snow White. My First hero was Mickey Mouse and he’s my favourite.”

Disney Junior’s Million Disney Memories campaign was created following new research, which found that 92% of UK parents and grandparents believe memories of Disney characters stay with you for life and more than half of the British Public have shared their own Disney memories with their family.

Mel C who ‘donated’ her memory says: “I think Disney is something that we’ve all grown up with and it’s so nice now, being a parent, that my daughter can enjoy all the characters that I have enjoyed, so we share it together.  Getting involved is really simple – you tell Disney Junior your memory and once they have collected a million, these memories will turn into money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. It’s a great cause so I urge everyone to share their Disney memories to help us reach our target.”

The Circus Comes To Town

Britney Spears opened her first show of her Circus Tour at London’s O2 Arena last night, wowing the crowd as she was lowered from the ceiling on a trapeze.

On the first leg of her European tour, the 27-year-old singer belted out new songs and a re-mix of her classics to a delighted audience.

Angelina Jolie has been named the most powerful celebrity in the world in the annual Forbes Celebrity 100 Power list, followed by last years winner Oprah Winfrey in second place.

Despite Jolie earning less than a tenth of Winfrey’s income the list is decided on not only the celebrities wealth but also their media visibility.

Julie Walters is to play the part of the former Northern Ireland secretary Mo Mowlam in a TV drama about her rise to prominence.

Ms. Mowlam died in 2005, at the age of 55, after suffering a fall due to balance problems as a result of the radiotherapy treatment received for the brain tumour she had survived.
