The face of a generation it is hardly surprising that Vogue magazine has chosen the quintessentially English model Kate Moss as the woman that has influenced fashion more than any other during the first decade of the twenty first century.

The cigarette smoking drug taking model has confounded the media with her continued popularity despite the constant put downs from the tabloid press particularly noticeable from the god awful Daily Mail.

Now 36 years old the girl from Croydon remains as stunning as ever and is still at the top of her game in modelling where she is forever in demand, most recently appearing on the cover of the latest album from crooner Bryan Ferry.

Vogue style director Alexandra Kotur said, ‘No one has had more influence for the past decade on the way women have dressed than Kate Moss. At every moment Kate has looked cool and chic. Kate Moss has had a quiet time of it recently but she was back in the news over the last week or two, firstly for her entrepreneurial skills in setting up a jam making business and secondly she is allegedly looking for a new holiday home.

Both news items featured in the Sun newspaper who’s ubiquitous source claimed that Kate had bought ‘loads of expensive equipment for making jam’.

She went on to add that there is so much fruit on the models land at her home in the Cotswold’s and she wanted to put it to good use. Apparently the jam making started as an hobby but appears to have spiralled into a business idea following favourable comments from anyone who had been given a sample.

Kate’s Damson Jam as it is known may even find its way onto the shelves of a supermarket near you, Kate has allegedly spoken to her friend Sir Phillip Green, seeking advice on how to market the product.

Despite being so busy the former Agent Provocateur model packed her women’s swimwear and headed off to an island off the coast of Italy this week, where she is reportedly hoping to buy a property.

Once again the ’source’ told the Sun that Moss had already tried to buy a plot of land on the island of Stromboli, after falling in love with the place while on a cruise in the area recently.

Stromboli is home to a live volcano which erupted as recently as April 13th 2009, but Moss seems unperturbed, the Sun source claiming that the model had already made a substantial offer on a piece of land where she would like to build her coastal home.

If she realises her dream Kate Moss will share the island with between 400 and 850 neighbours, although the place gets swarmed with visitors during the summer months.

Westlife

The band ‘Westlife’ have cancelled their promotional tour of London after the sudden death of Nicky Byrne’s father yesterday.

Nicky Byrne Sr. is believed to have suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 60, and his son has now flown back to Ireland to be with his family.  It is believed that the young Nicky had followed in his musician fathers footsteps who had been known his home country as a talented cabaret singer with his own band ‘Nicky and the Studz’.

Kym Marsh, who plays the part of a barmaid in Coronation Street, has won the title of ‘Celebrity Mum Of The Year’ for 2009 and also revealed that she is back in the arms of her boyfriend Jamie Lomas.

The 33-year-old actress and singer beat a host of other celebrities eager for the trophy, including Katie Price, Charlotte Church, Kate Garraway, Holly Willoughby, Geri Halliwell and Kate Moss.

The stars of Auf Wiedersehen Pet, have reunited to make a charity record in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, as the song is a popular one for the fans of Newcastle United.

Jimmy Nail, Tim Healy and Kevin Whately, have been in the recording studio to record a new version of the Geordie favourite ‘ The Blaydon Races’, which features a new verse written in Sir Bobby’s honour after losing his battle with cancer in July.

Sir Alex Ferguson

The daughter-in-law and grandchildren of Sir Alex Ferguson were involved in a serious car accident yesterday and are all being treated in hospital after being cut out of the vehicle.

Nadine Ferguson was reported to have suffered a shattered pelvis and broken leg while her son Charlie, underwent surgery for a head injury and her 6-year-old daughter suffered cuts and bruises.  The mother and son were both described as being in a serious but stable condition and all three remain in hospital.

The American actor Dom Deluise, 75, has died in his sleep at a Santa Monica hospital following a long illness which has not yet been disclosed, although it is known that he had been battling prostate cancer.

Best known for his roles as side-kick of Burt Reynolds in ‘The Cannonball Run’, ‘Smokey And The Bandit’ and also ‘Blazing Saddles’.  He leaves behind a wife and three sons who are all actors themselves.

Kate Moss is allegedly writing a tell-all autobiography for which she is expected to be paid £1 million when it is published by Virgin Books later in the year.

Moss will reveal all about her drug abuse problems, her split for drug addict Pete Doherty and her new partnership with Jamie Hince.

Kate Moss launched her latest range of clothing at Sir Philip Green’s first branch of Topshop in America which is opening to the public today.

Jennifer Lopez was at the event to give her support and attend the star-studded dinner on the eve of the opening along with her husband Marc Anthony.  Other celebrities at the event were Blondie singer Debbie Harry and actress Rosario Dawson.

Keira Knightley has made an advertisement for a campaign against violence against women and children in which she is seen being attacked by a violent partner.

The 25-year-old actress, is shown in the 2-minute clip returning from work when she is confronted by her partner who slaps her, knocking her to the ground before kicking her, the campaign is raising awareness of domestic violence.

Kylie Minogue has allegedly confessed to using Botox in the past but says that she prefers to be more natural these days.

The 40-year-old Australian singer also hinted that she may have had other cosmetic procedures done in the past but did not elaborate.

Moss and her boyfriend Jamie Hince were joined by Portsmouth footballer Peter Crouch and Abigail Clancy, who were seen leaving the hotel just before 4am this morning.  The celebrations tonight are to be held at the home of Moss in St. John’s Wood.

While holiday makers are said to be totally fed-up with the antics of Amy Winehouse, the head of St. Lucia’s tourism has publicly thanked the singer for the publicity the island has received.

The government has allegedly sent her a basket filled with local produce to show their gratitude as the photographs of her smiling and talking to the locals have been sent around the world.

Heather Mills, the ex-wife of Sir Paul McCartney has won the battle to keep the £1million pool built on her estate without planning permission.

The district council in East Sussex declared it was “not a change of use” and did not alter the “natural landscape”, so it will not therefore need to be filled-in.

Robbie Williams has said that fans should watch out for him on ‘Celebrity Come Dancing’ towards the end of the summer next year.

After returning to the UK recently, Williams confessed that despite the English weather he needed to return to his roots and be amongst the Brit’s, and now plans to show off his dancing skills on the show.

According to reports, the 100-year-old grandmother of Dawn French, was robbed at her home yesterday after being tricked by two men who she thought were there to collect her rubbish.

They stole £400 from the pensioner after she let them into her home.  After they left she realised the money was missing and the case is now being investigated by police.

Kate Moss has secured a deal to design fashion for Top Shop for another three years where she will also be adding lingerie and accessories to her collection.

Items from her last collection which was put on sale in October of this year, sold out within 15-minutes of the stores opening.

Stella McCartney had a ceremony to beat all others last night as she got her father and Peter Kay to come along for the switching on of the Christmas lights at her London store.

Kay dressed as the character from ‘Britain’s Got The Pop Factor’, Geraldine McQueen who alongside Sir Paul, had the audience rolling in the aisles, including Kate Moss with boyfriend Jamie Hince and her daughter Lila.

Bee Gee Robin Gibb, took the option not to fly rather than have his bag searched at Gatwick airport yesterday allegedly.

The 58-year-old was apparently randomly selected from passengers but refused the search and instead was escorted back through security checkpoints to the amazement of staff and onlookers.

Kim Cattrall has stripped nude in the name of art, posing alongside other female nude models in a bid to prevent the Titian’s painting of ‘Diana And Acteon’ being taken off of public display.

The Duke of Sutherland, plans to sell the masterpiece alongside ‘Diana And Callisto’, and has given first refusal to the National Galleries Of Scotland and the National Galleries of London where they have been displayed for over 60 years, but they are struggling to find the funds and Cattrall wants to raise the publics awareness of the situation.
