There are many celebrities who have had some sort of cosmetic surgery at some point in their lives. Some deny it, some own up to it, but most have had some kind of work done. The pressure to look flawless in the world of glamour and glitz is enormous and as time goes by the ability to keep looking fabulous naturally reduces, and Mother Nature needs a hand.

Celebrities and Liposuction

Liposuction is probably the most common cosmetic procedure in the world today and it’s certainly popular in the world of celebrity. One of the most notable examples being the actress Tara Reid, who starred in the American Pie films of the late 1990’s. She underwent liposuction on her stomach in an attempt to give herself a more toned looking six-pack; however she was left with a dented, disfigured looking area around her tummy which aged her appearance considerably.  Fortunately mishaps like these are quite rare. Celebrities don’t have months to spare in their schedules so liposuction is a quick and convenient way to get rid of this excess weight, even after childbirth in some cases. Oscar winning actress Halle Berry openly admitted to having liposuction after the birth of her child. For someone so reliant on her looks for her career, liposuction can indeed be a godsend.

Celebrities and Botox

Another very common cosmetic procedure amongst celebrities, second perhaps only to liposuction is Botox injections. Celebrities who have been linked to Botox include Kim Cattrall, Liz Hurley, Virginia Madsen, Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell and Kylie Minogue. Some celebrities like Joan Rivers and Virginia Madsen openly admit to using Botox, but others are far more secretive about having Botox or indeed any cosmetic surgery. The prospect of gaining flawless features and combatting the signs of aging can seem even more tempting to celebs seeing as though Botox prices are the lowest they’ve ever been.

Other Celebrities who admit to Surgery

Both Angelina Jolie and Beyonce, widely hailed as two of the most beautiful women in the world, had rhinoplastys (nose jobs), to give themselves straighter and more perfect looking noses.  In 2007 Jennifer Aniston, of Friends fame, even admitted to having a little bit of work done. There are many others, too numerous to mention, who have admitted to having had some form of cosmetic work done on themselves with the pressure to maintain an image of youthful perfection too strong in the 24/7 world of media and celebrity.

Christmas 2007

Stella McCartney had a ceremony to beat all others last night as she got her father and Peter Kay to come along for the switching on of the Christmas lights at her London store.

Kay dressed as the character from ‘Britain’s Got The Pop Factor’, Geraldine McQueen who alongside Sir Paul, had the audience rolling in the aisles, including Kate Moss with boyfriend Jamie Hince and her daughter Lila.

Bee Gee Robin Gibb, took the option not to fly rather than have his bag searched at Gatwick airport yesterday allegedly.

The 58-year-old was apparently randomly selected from passengers but refused the search and instead was escorted back through security checkpoints to the amazement of staff and onlookers.

Kim Cattrall has stripped nude in the name of art, posing alongside other female nude models in a bid to prevent the Titian’s painting of ‘Diana And Acteon’ being taken off of public display.

The Duke of Sutherland, plans to sell the masterpiece alongside ‘Diana And Callisto’, and has given first refusal to the National Galleries Of Scotland and the National Galleries of London where they have been displayed for over 60 years, but they are struggling to find the funds and Cattrall wants to raise the publics awareness of the situation.

Status Quo

Sophie Ellis Bextor, is expecting her second child with her husband, base guitar player with The Feeling, Richard Jones.

The 29-year-old singer has a four-year-old son called Sonny, and today revealed the happy news on her website, that she is five-months pregnant.

Kim Catteral has been voted as “Ultimate Icon” at the ‘Ultimate Woman Of The Year Awards’ last night in London.

The show, hosted by the lovely Fearne Cotton, was to celebrate real-life woman and celebrities alike.  The girl group, The Sugarbabes, were presented with the award for the ‘Ultimate Mistresses Of Music’, and Myleene Klass got the gong for ‘Ultimate TV Presenter’.

A charity auction took place last night in London, hosted by those old rockers ‘Status Quo’.  Celebrity paintings and drawings of the Quo’s record covers were bid for, all contributed to the fundraiser by Harry Hill, Fern Britton, Fiona Phillips, Brian May, Rolf Harris, the Coronation Street actors and Chelsea and Liverpool Football club’s and raised a staggering £100,000

Say No To Real Fur

Leona Lewis has apparently turned down a £1 million deal from the Harrods boss, Mohammed Fayed, to open the store for this years summer sale because they sell real fur.

The singer has strong principles on the matter and has been a vegetarian since the age of 12 and was voted the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity this year by Petra, the animal rights campaign.  The offer has now been accepted by Kim Cattrall, the  Sex And The City star.

Meanwhile, Tamara Ecclestone, the daughter of Formula One magnet, Bernie Ecclestone, and a Sky TV Sports presenter, has posed for PETA’s anti-fur advertisement, wrapped only in a chequered flag.

Her slogan is “Going Fur-Free is the Winning Formula”.  She believes that harming animals just for their fur is barbaric and who can disagree. Good for her.

Myleene Klass has launched her new baby clothing range for Mothercare in Edinburgh called ‘Baby K’ which is a range for newborns up to 3-year-old’s.
