It transpired that Lily Allen had been suffering from a viral infection and had been ordered to rest, resulting in her pulling out of a planned appearance at the Grey Goose and Character Cocktail charity ball over the weekend.

The singer who had previously miscarried in 2008 had understandably kept the pregnancy quiet for the first three months until she had the scans and was told by doctors that everything was OK. The couple then broke the news to fans in August saying “It goes without saying that we are both absolutely delighted.”

Lilly Allen described the previous miscarriage as being the worst time of her life and sadly she now faces going through the same again.

According to reports, Lily Allen and her boyfriend Sam Cooper are expecting their first child together and are said to be delighted and excited.

Ms. Allen made the announcement to a daily tabloid, confirming the news that she is three-months pregnant and that she will be continuing with professional commitments by performing at the Big Chill Festival this weekend.

The singer stated in an interview back in May that she was hoping to be pregnant by the end of the year after making no secret of the fact that she was keen to become a mother.

At the beginning of 2008, Lily was left devastated after suffering a miscarriage with her first pregnancy by her partner at the time Ed Simons from the Chemical Brothers.

Police have confirmed that a 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with a domestic incident and has been bailed until January pending further questioning.

Bruce Spingsteen cancelled his concert in Kansas City on Monday after the unexpected death of his cousin who was found dead in a motel room.

The singers website stated “  Due to a death in Bruce’s immediate family, tonight’s show at Sprint Center has been unavoidably cancelled. All tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Bruce and The Band deeply appreciate the understanding of our Kansas City audience and look forward to returning at the earliest opportunity.”

Madonna has been planting trees at the site of a  girls academy she intends to build in the homeland of her adopted children in Malawi.

The 51-year-old singer arrived in the country on Sunday along with her four children and was witnessed planting the trees by 500 local people.

Jude Law has become a father for the fourth time after his former girlfriend Samantha Burke, gave birth to a baby daughter on Wednesday.  The baby has been named Sophia and weighed in at 5lb 12oz on her early arrival as she wasn’t due until the 6th October.

According to reports, the daughter of Ray Winstone, model Jaime Winstone, has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a night out with Lily Allen and her brother Alfie Allen.

The 24-year-old was stopped by police after leaving a restaurant in Soho, but was released from Charing Cross police station later without any further action.

Gary Glitter has been denied permission to leave the UK for a holiday in the South of France by a judge at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Judge Timothy Workman granted an order to stop Glitter from travelling abroad, stating it was a necessary precaution to ensure children were protected from “serious sexual harm”.

Lily Allen was named GQ’s ‘Woman Of The Year’ last night at the men’s magazine’s annual award ceremony held at London’s Royal Opera House.

The Formula One driver Jenson Button was voted ‘Sportsman Of The Year’ at the prize-giving event with ‘Take That’ being awarded ‘Band Of The Year’.

During a British press conference today for the Michael Jackson Tribute show, Jermaine Jackson broke down and cried when he was asked about his families mourning process.

Former Spice Girl Mel C, has signed-up to make her debut on stage in the West End after joining the cast of one of the longest running musical shows ‘Blood Brothers’.

The 35-year-old singer, became a mother for the first time in February when she gave birth to daughter Scarlett and is said to appearing on the show from 26th October 2009.

The British actress and her photographer husband James Stenson have named their baby boy Kai David Singh Stenson, and all are said to be doing well.

According to reports, the celebrity chef John Burton Race, has declared himself bankrupt along with his ex-wife Kim.

Best known for his cookery series featuring Kim and their six children called ‘French Leave’, which saw the family living in France for 2 years before moving onto Devon.  Burton Race then left his family to move-in with his mistress with which he had a two-year-old secret love-child.

Sacha Baron Cohen aka Ali G or Borat, was taken to a police station yesterday after strutting his stuff on the catwalk at the Milan fashion show uninvited.

Cohen had earlier in the week burst onto the stage at a show by an Italian designer and was grabbed by security guards.

Lily Allen has been accused of glamorising gun violence after being seen wearing a gold pendant around her neck shaped like a Uzi sub-machine gun.  I thought the delightful piece of chav jewellery, really suited her!

The rumours doing the rounds yesterday, were completely unfounded and Paul Gascoigne is not dead but alive and well and out and about.

Looking much older than his 41 years, Gazza, and still battling his self-inflicted illness, he was accompanied by a young blond that had definitely put a smile on his face, for now!

Corden, has just won two Bafta awards for the sitcom Gavin and Stacey, which he both writes and stars in on BBC3, although it is now expected to move to primetime TV on BBC 1.

Miss Allen who has also recently had her own TV show, was seen leaving the Groucho Club with Corden on Wednesday evening before collecting her BMW and driving to his home in Bethnal Green, East London.

The couple met when Corden was a guest on Miss Allen’s BBC3 Chat show last month and he has described her as “an amazing girl”.  He also told her on the programme “Let me tell you this, on my life, without any irony or agenda, truly, I don’t think you realise how lovely you are”.  In a later interview he said “She could do with a little cuddle every now and then and I might just be the man to give her that” according to the daily mail.

However, when asked the question at the Bafta’s on a romance with Miss Allen he said “I’m not going to say anything about that”.

Corden would seem an unlikely heartthrob but he attracts no end of attention from female fans.  He appears to be a genuinely nice guy and that in itself is attractive to many women, he could be just the sort of man that would put a smile back on Lily’s face.
