Ronnie Wood, the guitarist with the Rolling Stones, was allegedly arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail.

Police have confirmed that a 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with a domestic incident and has been bailed until January pending further questioning.

Pop singer Lily Allen has confirmed that she will be taking a two-year break from her music career and plans to start a record label of her own and a fashion rental store.

The ‘Smile’ singer will appear at her last gig in March 2010, at the Dizzee Rascal concert taking place at the 02 Arena in London.

Kerry Katona is planning another new body for the New Year after piling on the pounds recently following her body make-over this year.

The former ‘Atomic Kitten’ singer said in a recent interview;

“I’m bankrupt and I can’t afford electricity. I’m in the house and it gets dark and I’ve got nothing to do. I’m cold, so I think, ‘Ooh, what do I want to eat?’. Then I just sit and watch a film, and stuff my face.” How do you watch a film if you have no electricity?

Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay has undergone plastic surgery on the alleged advice of Simon Cowell as he felt his career in America would be hindered by his wrinkled skin.

The 42-year-old chef has had the deep lines in his chin filled and admitted that the procedure hurt but that he was pleased with the outcome.

Lily Allen is setting up her own record label after previously complaining about the music industry and feels that changes need to be made.

The singer recently received a gong at the Q Awards for the ‘Best Track’ despite announcing her retirement from her music career.

Bruce Spingsteen cancelled his concert in Kansas City on Monday after the unexpected death of his cousin who was found dead in a motel room.

The singers website stated “  Due to a death in Bruce’s immediate family, tonight’s show at Sprint Center has been unavoidably cancelled. All tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Bruce and The Band deeply appreciate the understanding of our Kansas City audience and look forward to returning at the earliest opportunity.”

Madonna has been planting trees at the site of a  girls academy she intends to build in the homeland of her adopted children in Malawi.

The 51-year-old singer arrived in the country on Sunday along with her four children and was witnessed planting the trees by 500 local people.

Jude Law

Jude Law has become a father for the fourth time after his former girlfriend Samantha Burke, gave birth to a baby daughter on Wednesday.  The baby has been named Sophia and weighed in at 5lb 12oz on her early arrival as she wasn’t due until the 6th October.

According to reports, the daughter of Ray Winstone, model Jaime Winstone, has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a night out with Lily Allen and her brother Alfie Allen.

The 24-year-old was stopped by police after leaving a restaurant in Soho, but was released from Charing Cross police station later without any further action.

Gary Glitter has been denied permission to leave the UK for a holiday in the South of France by a judge at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Judge Timothy Workman granted an order to stop Glitter from travelling abroad, stating it was a necessary precaution to ensure children were protected from “serious sexual harm”.

Lily Allen was named GQ’s ‘Woman Of The Year’ last night at the men’s magazine’s annual award ceremony held at London’s Royal Opera House.

The Formula One driver Jenson Button was voted ‘Sportsman Of The Year’ at the prize-giving event with ‘Take That’ being awarded ‘Band Of The Year’.

During a British press conference today for the Michael Jackson Tribute show, Jermaine Jackson broke down and cried when he was asked about his families mourning process.

Jermaine stated that Michael didn’t just belong to his family but to the world and told of how are it had been to move on.  The tribute to the ‘King Of Pop’ takes place in Vienna, Austria on the 26th September, with a host of stars including Mary J Blige, Akon, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly and Sister Sledge.

Former Spice Girl Mel C, has signed-up to make her debut on stage in the West End after joining the cast of one of the longest running musical shows ‘Blood Brothers’.

The 35-year-old singer, became a mother for the first time in February when she gave birth to daughter Scarlett and is said to appearing on the show from 26th October 2009.

Parminder Nagra, who played the leading role in the movie ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ and also played Dr Neela Rasgota in ER, has given birth to her first child, a son born on Tuesday19 May.

The British actress and her photographer husband James Stenson have named their baby boy Kai David Singh Stenson, and all are said to be doing well.

According to reports, the celebrity chef John Burton Race, has declared himself bankrupt along with his ex-wife Kim.

Best known for his cookery series featuring Kim and their six children called ‘French Leave’, which saw the family living in France for 2 years before moving onto Devon.  Burton Race then left his family to move-in with his mistress with which he had a two-year-old secret love-child.

Lily Allen is to make a guest appearance in the Australian soap opera Neighbours while on her latest tour of ‘It’s Not Me’ in Melbourne in June.

The 24-year-old singer, will appear in a scene alongside ‘Zeke’ played by Matt Werkmeister, and has already confessed to being starstruck.

Samantha Janus has become engaged to her partner Mark Womack, after ten-years together and the couple are planning an intimate spring wedding along with their children Ben, 8, and Lily-Rose, 3 and Mark’s son from a previous relationship Michael.

The Girls Aloud singers Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Cole are taking to the hills after agreeing to take part in a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, to raise money for Comic Relief.

The girls admitted to being more concerned about the camping out at night than the trek but at least they will have the company of other celebrities, as other celebrities joining in the Red Nose Day fun is Gary Barlow, Fearne Cotton, Chris Moyles, Alesha Dixon, Ronan Keating and Ben Shepard.

Borat

Sacha Baron Cohen aka Ali G or Borat, was taken to a police station yesterday after strutting his stuff on the catwalk at the Milan fashion show uninvited.

Cohen had earlier in the week burst onto the stage at a show by an Italian designer and was grabbed by security guards.

Lily Allen has been accused of glamorising gun violence after being seen wearing a gold pendant around her neck shaped like a Uzi sub-machine gun.  I thought the delightful piece of chav jewellery, really suited her!

The rumours doing the rounds yesterday, were completely unfounded and Paul Gascoigne is not dead but alive and well and out and about.

Looking much older than his 41 years, Gazza, and still battling his self-inflicted illness, he was accompanied by a young blond that had definitely put a smile on his face, for now!

Corden, has just won two Bafta awards for the sitcom Gavin and Stacey, which he both writes and stars in on BBC3, although it is now expected to move to primetime TV on BBC 1.

Miss Allen who has also recently had her own TV show, was seen leaving the Groucho Club with Corden on Wednesday evening before collecting her BMW and driving to his home in Bethnal Green, East London.

The couple met when Corden was a guest on Miss Allen’s BBC3 Chat show last month and he has described her as “an amazing girl”.  He also told her on the programme “Let me tell you this, on my life, without any irony or agenda, truly, I don’t think you realise how lovely you are”.  In a later interview he said “She could do with a little cuddle every now and then and I might just be the man to give her that” according to the daily mail.

However, when asked the question at the Bafta’s on a romance with Miss Allen he said “I’m not going to say anything about that”.

Corden would seem an unlikely heartthrob but he attracts no end of attention from female fans.  He appears to be a genuinely nice guy and that in itself is attractive to many women, he could be just the sort of man that would put a smile back on Lily’s face.

The BBC3 sitcom, Gavin and Stacey had a double victory as the show won the category of Programme of the Year and the actor James Corden taking the award for Comedy Performance. These were the only awards actually voted for by the public. James was the man who came up with the idea for Gavin and Stacey with his co-star from Fat Friends Ruth Jones.

Corden beat The Thick Of it actor Peter Capaldi, Stephen Merchant for the Extra’s Christmas Special and David Mitchell for the Peep Show. Corden has been in the news recently surrounded by rumours of a romance with Lily Allen and was astounded when he heard that he had won.  Before the ceremony he said “It’s great to be recognised. It’s brilliant. But you can’t take it too seriously. There’s a chance that you think you’re a bit more of a dude than you really are. The show isn’t up for best sitcom so obviously they’re a bunch of p****s.  I can’t imagine winning but if we do no-one will be happier than me.  It’s terrific.”

Harry Hill also got a won a  double for the categories of Best Entertainment Programme for TV Burp and Best Entertainment  Performance.

The highest accolade that BAFTA can give is the Academy Fellowship Award, which was presented to Bruce Forsyth.  The host of Strictly Come Dancing said that he had been “dead and buried” before the dancing show started.  He added “This is quite overwhelming…Morecombe and Wise and Charlie Chaplin were the only light entertainment people to get this award before.  It’s so moving that this is where it started 58-years-ago when I walked into this theatre and didn’t know a soul and the stage doorman made me feel so much at home.  This means so much to me.  I can’t be funny.  There’s nothing to be funny about.  It’s a wonderful, wonderful night for me.  There are so many memories going through my mind right now.  It’s impossible to capture all of them.  This is as good as it gets.  Thank you so much for a wonderful, wonderful honour.”

Bafta TV committee Chairperson, John Willis said “Bruce Forsyth has been keeping viewers of all ages entertained for decades.  He is the ultimate all round entertainer.  Just after his 80th birthday is the perfect time for the Bafta to recognise his huge contribution to popular television by awarding Bruce a very well deserved fellowship.”

The actress Dame Eileen Atkins, 73-years-old, took the award for Best Actress for her role in the period drama, Cranford.  It was the first Bafta award that the actress has received and she was given a rapturous applause as she went to accept her prize and joked about the series by saying “I bet they wished they hadn’t killed me off now.”  The drama was surprisingly not awarded the honour of Best Drama Serial which went to the Channel 4 programme Britz, a two-part series about a young Muslim woman who became Britain’s first suicide bomber.

The Best Actor award went to the 24-year-old newcomer, Andrew Garfield, for his part in the provocative drama Boy A.

The Best Specialist Factual Programme went to Andrew Marr, the former BBC political editor, for the Andrew Marr’s History of Modern Britain.

The director of the documentary Malcolm and Barbera ‘Love’s Farewell’, Paul Watson, won the Special Award.  There was much controversy over the documentary last year when it was questioned whether he had filmed the final moments of  Alzheimer sufferer Malcolm’s life or used an earlier, edited version.

Holby City won the Best Soap category, a first for the hospital drama while US Sci-fi show ‘Heroes’ won the international category.

The Peep Show won Best Situation Comedy for Channel 4 and Gordon Ramsey was awarded a prize in the features category for Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.

The trio were apparently removed from the men’s toilets by security at the after-party being held at the Dolce nightclub in London’s West End.

Ms. Allen claimed to be dodging the queue for the ladies toilet but she was soon seen leaving the venue to go to the Groucho with actor James Corden, while Noel and Johnny went onto Bungalow 8.

The police were called to the nightclub after Noel and Johnny, were joined by about 30 party goers before the security tried to get them out about 8am.

It was claimed by a source that “Johnny was running around the lobby screaming and shouting like a child.  He was screaming ; ‘Come and get me, come and get me ‘.  After they left, the room was a disgrace.  It was trashed and there was evidence of all sorts of naughty business in there.  One of them is going to have to foot the bill.”
