Susan Boyle search for duet partner

Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle has launched an international search to find an as yet unknown singer who will join her in a duet on her next album.

The singer said;

“Last year my dream of becoming a recording artist came true after auditioning on Britain’s Got Talent. Since then, I’ve had an absolutely fantastic time. It’s been a real gift to me and now I would like to pass on the gift to someone else.”

Following the success on Britain’s Got Talent Susan Boyle found it difficult to handle her new found fame but to her credit she appears to have overcome her emotions and last year was a phenomenal success for her.

Having broken records with her debut album selling over 9 million copies worldwide, Susan has decided that she wants to offer someone else the opportunity to become a star, by offering the prize of a duet on her next album The Gift.

The competition is being run through her official website www.susanboylemusic.com and her YouTube channel. The competition is open from Friday 9th July and runs until Friday 23rd July 2010 with the winner being announced on Monday 26th July 2010.

Entrants can upload videos of themselves singing Silent Night and Susan Boyle will be viewing all entries and then pick a winner.

Susan said; “There are a lot of people out there who wouldn’t have the confidence or perhaps the means to enter a big competition like Britain’s Got Talent. So this might be a lot less daunting for some people as they can record the song in the privacy of their own home. I’m hoping that people who have always wanted to sing will give it a try. I wish you all good luck.”

Prescott (no offence to the dog!)

The former deputy prime minister John Prescott, has made a cameo appearance in the final episode of the comedy Gavin & Stacey.

Ruth Jones apparently contacted Prescott and asked him personally if he would take part in the sitcom after her character often makes remarks about their past romance.  Prescott attends the wedding of Stacey in the comedy which was supposed to be kept secret but he was spotted when the DVD was released this week.

Charlotte Church is coming back to our screens as she takes on a new comedy show after taking a break from her career to raise her two children Ruby,2, and Dexter, 11-months.

The Welsh singer is said to be ready to make her return to a brand new comedy programme which is said to be planning to air in the New Year.

Susan Boyle, the Britain’s Got Talent runner-up, had a dream come true when she was given the chance to sing with her idol Elaine Paige for a TV Special on the Scottish singers amazing year.

The programme called ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ is due to be broadcast on Sunday evening, immediately after the X Factor final.
