Gary Glitter was released from jail in Vietnam yesterday and put on a plane for the first part of his journey back to the UK.

However, after the flight arrived in Bangkok, he refused to board the connecting flight to the UK and is now being threatened with deportation.

According to reports today, Amy Winehouse is to go into the rehab clinic, Focus 12 in Bury St Edmunds, near to the prison where her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil, is serving his sentence.

Her father Mitch said,

“This is a very good idea.  If she can get clean and still see Blake it can only be good.”

The clinic is the same one where Russell Brand was treated for his addiction to drugs, and he urged the chief executive of the clinic to offer treatment to Winehouse, which he did and she has accepted.

The Channel 4 executives are allegedly planning a special ‘Countdown’ show for Carol Vorderman, who quit the show last month following a pay dispute.

Des O’Connor had already announced his decision to leave the show earlier in the month but as the programme is now on it’s summer break the couple will film their final show when they return in the autumn.
