According to reports, actor Ricky Whittle, a contestant on the latest series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, has been arrested on suspicion of assault outside of a nightclub.

The incident was said to have happened in the early hours of this morning and the 29-year-old is believed to be being held at a Liverpool police station.

Robbie Williams proposed to his girlfriend Ayda Field live on radio in Australia yesterday but insists that it was just a bit of fun and that they are not engaged.

The singer was appearing on Sydney’s 2DayFM promoting his latest album when he called Ayda into the studio and proposed to her, however,  a spokesperson for Williams stated that it was done in a jovial manner despite Robbie’s mother confirming the engagement.

Shakira is launching a competition, aimed at up-and-coming musicians to audition on her website which will be voted for by her fans.  The chosen finalists will then be auditioned by her and will be given the chance to open her world tour next year.

The singer feels that there are a lot of talented artists out there and she wants to help them reach the big time by selecting the best to appear at her concerts.

The style guru Gok Wan, best known for his actions in getting people to look good naked, is instead urging business people around Hampshire to wear red clothes instead.

For a donation of just £2, going towards a charity that helps people in crisis throughout the UK and overseas, employees will be able to ditch their business suits and don red clothing to raise money for the cause.
