Wendy Richard has had a plaque unveiled in her memory at the Shepherd’s Tavern pub in Mayfair, attended by a host of celebrities to pay tribute to the actress.

The 65-year-old actress, lost her battle with cancer in February and the plaque was uncovered to celebrate her life,  stating that she had  lived at the address from 1943 until 1953.

Liz Smith, who most recently played the part of Nana in The Royle Family, has announced that she is retiring from acting at the age of 87.

The actress has spent the past two-months in hospital after suffering a stroke and feels that further acting roles are beyond her although she is hoping to continue with her writing.

Kirsty Gallacher, now known for her stints on Ant and Dec’s Saturday night show, has become engaged after her boyfriend, rugby player Paul Sampson, proposed on Saturday.

The couple who have been together for eight years, and have a two-year-old son together called Oscar are hoping to get married sometime next year.

Rupert Grint, who plays the part of Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, is said to have contacted the swine flu virus and had been kept away from the latest film set for fear of the infection spreading.

According to reports, the 20-year-old actor has now recovered from what was said to be only a mild bout and is looking forward to returning to work this week.
