The musician Jason Rae, husband of singer Corinne Bailey Rae has died after a suspected drug overdose.
Mr. Rae, 32 years old was a saxophonist with the band ‘Haggis Horn’, his body was found in a flat in Leeds on Saturday.
The band had performed with Corinne Bailey Rae as well as Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson and Nightmares on Wax. Last September they released their debut album ‘Hot Damn’.
A post mortem examination has proved inconclusive and police are now waiting for toxicology reports.
Jason and Corinne met at a Leeds Jazz Club and married in 2001. Corinne has spoken before about how her marriage inspires her songwriting . She once said “I feel really lucky that I have found someone that I want to spend my life with at such a young age.”
A 32 year old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs but he has now been released on bail pending enquiries according to West Yorkshire Police.
