It has been reported that the Little Britain star, David Walliams has been stalked by an obsessed fan for the past three years and has now had to call in the police.

Sarah Bartholomew, 29-years-old, has allegedly been bombarding Mr Walliams with erotic verse, showering him with gifts and secretly photographing him in his house.

The book ‘Inside Little Britain’ - co-written by Walliams, his comic partner Matt Lucas and journalist Boyd Hilton, describes many of the verses and regularly refers to her sexual feelings towards David. It mentions that he had started to receive hand-delivered correspondence at his house from Bartholomew.

Last year she was warned by the BBC to stop harassing Mr Williams as her attention had become so alarming and she was banned from the TV studios. She was said to have broken into the star’s dressing room forcing Walliams to hide in a private room until she had been escorted off the premises.

Walliams solicitors have repeatedly sent the woman letters telling her to keep away from the star but she continued her obsessive stalking campaign. His advisers have now involved the police and want them to prosecute the fan. Moira Belles, his publicist said “It’s a police matter now.”

Miss Bartholomew said “I have heard from his solicitors asking me to stop seeing him. The first one was quite a while ago, maybe a couple of years. Every time I’ve got something requesting me to keep my distance from David then restraining orders and injunctions come to mind, but it hasn’t happened yet so I’m not thinking about it. The last time I actually saw him was very recently. It was in London at this house. I have seen him hundreds of times, probably thousands. I can’t see him at the BBC studios anymore because I’ve been banned but I go to places like the ITV studio’s, the Bafta’s and the Pride Of Britain awards. When he was on tour which went on for months, I more or less followed him length and breadth of Britain. I spend thousands each year but you can’t put a price on some things.”

She went onto explain when she first met him after a live recording of the second series and actually got to talk to him. “The first moment I saw him it was face to face, talking in person and I was infatuated” she said. “He was lovely. I was taken by his character, as well the fact he is scrumptious in general.”

When asked about the underwear and explicit letters she had sent him, she blushed and said “I heard that David was a big fan so I wanted to get him a special present.”

Miss Bartholomew said on reading about the stars well-publicised sexual conquests “It’s difficult reading about his exploits with other women in the newspapers. It’s upsetting to see the man you’re in love with being with other people. I guess I do compare people to David and no one comes up to scratch.”
