It has been claimed today, that the Big Brother hostess, Davina McCall, is quitting the programme to become a serious actress.

Davina has been presenting the show since 2000 for Channel 4 and will finish at the end of the ninth series this summer.

She apparently sacked her agent, John Noel, and has instead gone with Michael Foster, who was behind the transformation of Billie Piper from popstar to actress.

A source told the News Of The World newspaper that “She has finally realised the time is right to move on.  After doing so many series of Big Brother, she’s become seriously bored.  She’s very excited and convinced that Michael can turn her into a serious actor.”

A Channel 4 source said “Davina has had to make some very hard choices.  There is an understanding at Big Brother that it’s very unlikely she’ll be back.”

The 40-year-old presenter, had previously appeared in a role in ‘Sam’s Game’, an ITV sitcom in 2001, but the show was cancelled after the first series, however, it is claimed that she will star in a major ITV drama later this year.
