Emma Watson the actress who played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, turned eighteen yesterday, which means that she now has access to her £10.5 million fortune for the first time.

It is claimed that Ms. Watson firstly had to enrol on a crash course on how to be a multi-millionaire and also to agree to have her spending carefully scrutinised by four of the senior managers at Coutts, the bankers for the Queen.

The star has accumulated her fortune over the past eight years for playing her role in the Potter films, and celebrated her birthday whilst filming the latest wizard movie at the Hertfordshire studios.

The latest Harry Potter movie ‘Deathly Hollows’, is to be split into two parts of which Ms. Watson will be paid £1.5 million for each.

In regards to the crash course, apparently the actress had to sit through three days of tutorials with other Harry Potter child stars.  A source close to Emma said “It was Emma’s parents Chris and Jacqueline who enrolled her at Coutts in the first place.  The idea is for the money to grow and safeguard her future - not be blown in a couple of years of high-living.  First came the three-days of talks from senior account managers and visiting tutors.  Then she was handed over to the private bankers managers from Coutts.  Emma is now surrounded by several trusted private bankers who will advise her and her parents on her spending. Of course legally Emma has access to her millions - it’s about £10 million - but she has been so surrounded by private bankers managers advising her strongly to channel it into trusts that it will be made quite difficult for her to even have £1 million in her hands to spend at will.”

Daniel Radcliffe is also understood to have his fortune, estimated to be at about £24 million, managed by Coutts.
