TVN Lingua is a Polish TV Channel and it is using repeats of the Big Brother series on examples of English and how it is actually spoken in today’s society.

The channel’s chief executive, Urszula Majewska said that she “wouldn’t recommend it for teenagers” but believes the programme could serve a purpose.

Goody became famous in the third series of Big Brother in 2002, after becoming a laughing stock with her dim-witted comments and ignorance.

She has called East Anglia, “East Angular”, thought Saddam Hussein was a boxer, and that the Union Jack was for all of us but the St George Cross is just for London, however this one has to be my favourite,  “I’m being used as an escape goat” .

Anyway, it is all to do with media studies for students and is only a small part of the course where the pupils study different types of media and write a project on their findings.  The recommened task is “Jade Goody during the Big Brother race row.”

Ofsted’s former chief inspector of schools, Chris Woodhead, said “Media studies has always been a nonsense - now it has degenerated into a farce.  Students ought to be exposed to interesting and worthwhile figures and issues - Jade Goody fits into neither category.”

A spokesman for OCR, who defends featuring Miss Goody in the course said “Her treatment in the media is a good example for students to study because of the scale of the race row and the distinct approaches taken by the media in their style of coverage.”

However much Jade Goody is knocked, you can’t deny the fact that she’s become a multi-millionaire, so maybe it just pays to act dumb!
