Jamie Theakston, the DJ and TV Presenter, has become a father. His wife Sophie gave birth to their son on Friday night in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, West London.
The baby has been called Sidney fortunately, as fans on Heart FM voted for the host to call him Elvis. He weighed 8lb 6oz and is the couple’s first child.
Mr Theakston’s colleague Mark Browning, said “Jamie is absolutely delighted, thrilled and a bit tired. The baby was born at 8pm. He phoned me on Thursday night and said there were signs that the baby was coming, and he didn’t come to work on Friday. Jamie has been really very nervous about it, but he’s been able to have fun with it. These things are fraught with worry as well as being a joyful event.”
Jamie and Sophie met in 2006, when Sophie, the manager of a private members club Soho House, and Jamie both attended the Oscars ceremony. The couple got married last September.
