Last week she was seen at the wheel driving friends from the Paradise Pub in Kensal Green, North London, back to her home in St Johns Wood.
An onlooker said “Kate was so excited – she was giggling like a kid in a sweet shop. She said it was her maiden job. And as she left the pub she banged on the window to show the cab off to her friends inside.”
The cost of a privately-owned black cab is anything up to £35,000 and they are banned from bus lanes.
Miss Moss is known for her love of cars, and has in the past owned an MG Midget, a 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, a Mercedes SL, a Range Rover and an old style mini amongst others.
The London cab seems to be the latest trend with celebrities. Stephen Fry was said to have one to drive around in as he avoided getting parking tickets, he said “I sometimes park it on taxi stands all day and no one notices.”
The suppliers of the black cab claim that celebrities favour the privacy that the cab provides and a Sales Manager said “Some celebrities want a travelling office that is more anonymous that a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce.”
