It is claimed that Mariah Carey has secretly married her boyfriend of just one month at her home in the Bahamas.

The singer, 38-years-old was reported to have got engaged to the actor and presenter, Nick Cannon, 27-years-old, earlier this week, but now it seems they have actually married.

A family member of Mr Cannon’s has apparently confirmed the report and said “Yes, we know.  He called us and told us all about it.  We are happy for him.  If that’s what he wants then we are happy for him.  I’m not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him.”

The guests at the ceremony supposedly included rapper De Brat, a longtime friend of the singers.

Although her family are said to be concerned about the whirlwind wedding, a source said “Everyone is happy to see her happy.  And it could work out.  Some people know each other for five years and get divorced.  Maybe this is true instant love.”

A spokesman for the jeweller Jacob & Co, claimed that the actor had the 17 carat ring specially designed for the singer at a cost of $2.5 million.

This is the second marriage for Miss Carey, who in 1993 married Tommy Mattola, the Columbia Records Executive, but it only lasted for four years.
