It has been reported that junkie Pete Doherty, has been sentenced to fourteen weeks in prison for breaking a probation order.

He attended a hearing today at the West London Magistrates’ Court and a spokesman for the court confirmed that the Babyshambles singer had been jailed for “breach of time keeping, non-compliance of his order and using different drugs.”

The singer was given a two-year suspended jail sentence in October 2007 plus a 12 month drug rehabilitation order with an 18 month supervision order.

He was also ordered to pay a £400 fine for driving with no insurance and £75 for not having a valid MOT certificate.

An EMI spokesman said “Unfortunately Peter has had to postpone his show at the Royal Albert Hall on April 26th.  The show is due to be rescheduled and all tickets will be valid for the new date once it has been announced.  Peter was very much looking forward to the show and would like to offer his sincere apologies to all his fans and to all those concerned.”

Under the current rules, he is likely to spend around a month in prison, but if he has to stay the full term he could miss the Glastonbury Festival.
