It was reported today that the husband and wife team, that have kept us entertained on ‘This Morning’ and more recently with the late afternoon audience on Channel 4, are moving to digital TV.

From the Autumn, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan, the married, TV presenting team are said to have been signed by the pay-television network, UKTV for a significant sum.

Their audience will be on a much smaller scale, perhaps as few as 400,000, where-as the Channel 4 programme regulary pulled in 2 million viewers.

The couple left Channel 4 in November last year but have said the temptation to continue working together has proved too strong.

The couple will still feature their popular Richard and Judy book and wine clubs, which have also proved to be a great money-spinner for their respective industries.

Ms. Finnegan said “When we announced our decision to leave our current television series after seven years, we were very touched by the number of people - friends, family, guests, viewers and broadcasters - who told us how much they wanted to see us continuing making programmes together.”
