According to reports, Geoffrey Hughes who plays the part of the beloved Twiggy in the Royle Family has once again been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The 66-year-old actor allegedly collapsed at his Isle of Wight home last week and was taken to the Portsmouth hospital with crippling back pain. Hughes was given the devastating news that his cancer had once again returned and is now undergoing intensive radiotherapy but is said to be gravely ill.
The Liverpudlian is probably best known for his long stint in the ITV soap Coronation Street where he played binman Eddie Yeats from 1974 until 1983, returning in 1987 for the departure of Hilda Ogden.
After making a recovery from prostate cancer last year, he and his wife Sue are devastated that it has returned again but despite being in terrible pain the actor is doing his best to beat the illness for the second time with the support of his family.
